Greeting students in some way before the school day begins has been a goal of mine to begin this school year. It's hard to remember but I've changed how I prioritize things based on research done about student success and greeting them at the door. The reality is that the positives of greeting students will most likely outweigh the negatives of what I think I need to do instead of greeting them. And by this I mean that I don't organize something in my room instead of greeting my students (or any of the 100 things I could be doing instead). It's hard to change habits but it's worth it. I can tell students are appreciating the connection to begin the day. I know I am.
